NewsA new season to enjoy at the Villa Taranto Botanical Gardens
The historic Villa Taranto Gardens, among the most famous gardens in Europe, re-opened its gates just recently, at the end of March. Visitors still have more than 200 days of uninterrupted activity to enjoy, bank holidays included.
In a year characterised by the credit crunch, the organising Association of the Lake Maggiore flower reserve is optimistic and has taken on a new approach based on innovative strategies. As a matter of fact new synergies with partners of all kinds have been set up in order to promote the Verbano Cusio Ossola territory in the best possible way.
Like every year the garden will give visitors the chance to admire 16 hectares of surface in which 20,000 species of particular botanical importance from throughout the world can be found. This variety will be presented to tourists in the form of a park made up of various gardens, each with their own characteristics.
A year of non-stop events in the Villa's Botanical Gardens: Nei Giardini Giardini Botanici di Villa un anno di eventi non stop: The traditional tulip week, which takes place between 25th April and 1st May and was inaugurated for the first time in 1957 by Captain Neil Mc Eacharn-Passaggiano nel parco. One Sunday in May will be dedicated to the presentation and tasting of typical products from the Verbano Cusio Ossola Province.-Turista nella tua citta. On 2nd June, to Mark the Bank Holiday Festa della Reppublica, all over 50s residing in Verbania will have the opportunity to visit the gardens free of charge. The dahlia display. From August to the end of October visitors can admire the Dahlia Maze, which contains over 1,500 plants of over 350 varieties, boasting an array of colours, shapes and sizes.
