Lake Maggiore's most important exhibition event has now reached its 47th edition. From 22nd May to 2nd June 2009, at the usual location of the Arona lakefront, the gates to the "Fiera del Lago Maggiore" will open for visitors, a historic event which dates back to the XIV- XVI Centuries, in the age of the Visconti and Sforza County Lordships. The first modern day Fair in Arona was in 1962 thanks to the E.M.A. association (Ente Manifestazioni aronesi).

Today, the fair is the only National Fair in the Novara Province and has become a reference point and precious showcase for commercial, business and free time activities, with operators from throughout Italy and even some on an International level. It is an opportunity for firms, a meeting point for over 150,000 visitors at the heart of a strategic area for the economy and consumption

The Arona Exhibition Centre is works a great deal with new media. Its website www.fieraarona.it, offers a virtual marketplace in which the players of the real economy are presented together with those involved in sport, Lake Maggiore's firms and the facts surrounding the area.

In addition to all of this the Arona Lake Maggiore Fair is also keeping an eye on the future, aiming to predict tomorrow's scenario. The Lake Maggiore Fairs Association will certainly have to take on the new challenges of a global economy, whilst continuing to represent a meeting point between companies, distributors and consumers in a new local-global mix and in a new international socio-economic scenario.
